Oral Sedation

In case you have delayed important dental treatment because of fear, then conscious sedation may produce positive changes to personal life.  It’s safe and highly effective. Conscious sedation has enabled a large number of patients to obtain the smile they have always dreamed about but had been too frightened to seek out help. Dr. Dolenz and his team are educated to carefully and comfortably offer this excellent assistance.

Sometimes when teeth are not able to be effectively repaired with filling material Dr. Dolenz will recommend crowns. Teeth that have excessively decayed, have fillings that are cracked, or have been damaged by injury are just a few of the reasons that crowns might be indicated. Crowns are restorations that are very durable, cosmetically pleasing and supportive of healthy chewing function.

If Dr. Dolenz determines that a crown is the best means of treatment he will communicate the options that are available and his recommendation. Crowns can be full porcelain, porcelain fused to metal or even gold. Whatever material is ultimately selected for your crown Dr. Dolenz and his team will work tirelessly to insure that the unit fits properly and compliments your smile.

The restoration process begins with the removal of all tooth decay and the preparation of the existing tooth. Once this procedure is completed we will use our in-house lab to create an extremely high quality  crown which will give you years of trouble free service.

We then carefully prepare the replacement crown for bonding. The results will be beautiful and fully functional. Your smile and your health will be enhanced, and best of all, most times it’s done in one visit!

Oral Cancer Screening

During your dental exam, we’ll look at your entire mouth for any lumps or spots. Looking for early changes in mouth tissues can aid in diagnosing malignancies at a point in time when they are usually more effectively treated.

Any time decay takes place beneath the gum line, it may be important to take out a tiny bit of bone tissue as well as gum cells. Dr. Dolenz may suggest this prior to making a new crown for your tooth.

Bite Therapy/TMJ Treatment

Bite issues may result in cracked or loosened teeth or even inflamed jaw muscles and/or joints. Dr Dolenz and his staff diagnose the degree of bite issues through analyzing the quantity of wear, looseness and muscle or joint discomfort. Treatment plans might include prescribing a night guard, eating plan changes, orthodontics (braces for your teeth), or even repairing or reshaping the teeth.

Many people dream about having the perfect smile. We want to help you make that dream come true.  If your teeth are chipped, discolored, or slightly crooked, porcelain veneers may be recommended by Dr. Dolenz as the ideal solution. Porcelain veneers are thin layers of ceramic that can be placed over front teeth that are not cosmetically pleasing. The results are amazing and the change that patients experience in self-confidence can be incredible too.

We will begin the process by preparing the tooth. This will include removing any discolored or unsightly portions and then shaping the tooth in preparation for the new veneer. Once the tooth has been properly shaped we will take impressions which will be sent to our high quality lab for crafting your veneer. You will be fitted with a “temporary” so that you may resume life without embarrassment or discomfort.

You will be scheduled for another office visit so that we may fit the veneers. We will take great care to insure that your new veneers feel and look perfectly natural. We are confident that when you walk out of our office after this visit you will be thrilled with your new beautiful smile.

Periodontal Disease Treatment

The main goal of treatment is to control the infection. The number and types of treatment will vary, depending on the extent of the gum disease. Any type of treatment requires that the patient keep up good daily care at home. Additionally, modifying certain behaviors, such as quitting tobacco use, might also be suggested as a way to improve treatment outcome.

Deep Cleaning

The dentist, periodontist or dental hygienist removes the plaque through a deep-cleaning method call scaling and root planing. Scaling means scraping off the tartar from above and below the gum line. Root planing gets rid of rough spots on the tooth root where the germs gather, and helps remove bacteria that contribute to the disease.

Preventative Cleanings

Preventive cleanings include regular dental exams, cleanings and x-rays. Sealants and fluoride are also great preventive treatments that help protect the teeth. Prevention helps avoid serious and costly dental problems and is the key to having a healthy, confident, beautiful smile.

Examination of diagnostic x-rays (radio-graphs): Essential for detecting decay, tumors cysts, and bone loss. X-rays also help determine tooth and root positions.

Oral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.

Gum disease evaluation: Check the gums and the bone around the teeth of any signs of periodontal disease.

Examination of tooth decay: All tooth surfaces will be checked for decay with special dental instruments and our diagnostic laser.

Examination of existing restoration: Check current fillings crowns, etc.

At our office we will try every alternative before extracting a tooth. However, in some cases the tooth may not be saveable. Extractions may be necessary because of gum disease, substantial tooth decay, extensive trauma, badly cracked or broken teeth or crowding. Depending on the type of extraction needed, Dr. Dolenz can perform most extractions at our office.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is a common procedure. If the dental pulp (containing nerves, arterioles, venules, lympathatic tissue) becomes diseased or injured, endodontic treatment is required to save the tooth. Rest assured that Dr. Dolenz and his staff will deliver the best care possible during your visit.
